More than 2000 children living in over 25 developing countries are currently being financially assisted through The Salvation Army Australia Sponsorship Program.
The Salvation Army Child Sponsorship Programme has been in existence since the early 1980’s. The concept of child sponsorship has been around for decades in an effort to break the cycle of unequal distribution of wealth in the world.
The key to its success is everyday people making regular donations to provide children trapped in poverty with the basics of life, things we take for granted like food, clothing, education and medical care. Through an annual sponsorship, your financial aid assists The Salvation Army to run schools, children’s homes, feeding centres, tuition programs and day care centres.
Alone, it is hard to know what to do in the face of a problem that is so huge. It is almost incomprehensible, but together there is something we can do! We can reach out and change one child’s life for less than a dollar a day.
